I actually didn’t come up with it, I was inspired to start my own version of the fanfic by someone else here on tumblr
The fog lifted on the cold spring morning. All through the woods the animals began their day, scurrying and flying around trees. Just like the animals,Merida, as princess of DunBroch started her day along with them.
Trailing behind her mother at a slow and uninterested pace, she obeyed her commands, for the most part. She looked past her red curls at the light outside the castle windows. Finally after what seemed an eternity her mother announced that her lessons were over for the day.
Meridaran as fast as she could out of the castle with her trusty bow and arrows. She stopped at the stables and hopped onto her horse Angus, riding him past maids and workers out of the castle walls and into the forest for another day of adventure.
Meridacould feel the wind through her hair and could hear the sound of every leaf as they brushed by. She couldn’t feel more alive. Still on Angus, she went through her routine of aiming and shooting perfectly at her self-placed arrows throughout the forest.
It wasn’t until she decided to take a rest that she heard something she only remembered from her childhood. There was a soft sort of humming coming from behind her; she turned to see a small blue form of light floating just a few feet away from her. She swung her bow around her shoulder and stepped closer to it.
The blue form disappeared and reappeared farther away from her. She had heard about these forms, The Will o’ the Wisps, they were supposed to be link to ones fate. If it had appeared, then somehow she had the feeling she had to follow it. And she did, with Angus behind her. She followed it up to a cottage in the woods, where it disappeared for good.
The cottage has to mean something, she thought as she approached it. Angus whinnied nervously andMerida shushed him. She opened the door and found the cottage filled, every nook and cranny, with wooden carvings. It didn’t make sense, why would the Wisps lead her here?
She was about to touch a wooden carving when she was startled by the sound of an old woman’s voice. “See anything you like? Everything in the shop is fifty percent off!”
Meridajumped and looked at the old woman as she ran through the cottage sweeping like crazy. “N-not really.”
The woman started explaining each carving and it was then thatMeridanoticed that the woman’s broom had started sweeping on its own.
“Y-you’re a witch!”
“NO, that’s ridiculous, I’m a simple wood carver.”
“But, I saw…”
“A wood carver,” the woman said louder.
Meridacould feel her frustration rising and as she pointed her finger at the old woman accusingly she saw the tip glow with a sort of blue flame. The old woman stared at her confused asMeridabrought her finger closer to examine it.
The witch smiled as she realized what was happening.
“You must be a DunBroch,” she said with a chuckle.
“How do ya know that?”Meridasaid looking at her more confused than ever.
“Because, like my carvings…” the woman snapped her fingers and the cottage changed into a cauldron room.
“The DunBroch’s are made from magic…”
Morning filled theislandofBurkwith light. It was a quiet morning; the men of the village were out fighting on the sea, like they always were. Home filled with noise as the women started their duties, cooking and cleaning. The teen of the village jumped out of their homes and headed out for dragon training. That was where, according to his father, Hiccup would be.
Of course, instead of being there with the other teens, he was carrying his newest invention towards the woods. He had gotten past the hardest part, getting out it out of the village. He would much rather be doing this than be at dragon training where the rest of the teens made fun of him. Even Astrid, she was the best of them all, sure to be a top warrior.
She was beautiful and strong, the only reason he would ever wish to be like everyone else would be for her to like him. But he knew that it would never happen and got the thought out of his head. He walked for a good while before he decided to stop and set up his invention. He planned on catching the first dragon he could and killing it. It would prove to his father that he could be like the other Vikings.
As he held the device he remembered going to the mainland and meeting the Scottish girl. He had promised to go back; he hadn’t gone back since he was so busy and couldn’t find the time to sneak away. He hoped she wasn’t mad at him. Just as he finished tat thought, he saw something move across the sky.
Grabbing a good hold of his invention he aimed as the thing flew by shakily. It was obviously hurt, one shot and he would have it. He pulled the trigger and the device threw a net with heavy spheres at the end. He looked up to see the net wrap around the dragon and the spheres tighten their grip. The dragon fell and Hiccup ran towards it…
…He couldn’t do it, looking at the dragon lying on the floor; he couldn’t bring himself to kill it. What was wrong with him? He had just caught a Night Fury; he knew this because of the color of the dragon, dark and mysterious. Killing it would make not only his father but the whole village proud of him.
The dragon opened an eye and looked up at him, he could tell, it was just as afraid of him as he was afraid of it. They were the same, he grabbed his knife and instead of killing it, he set it free. It sprang at him but just before attacking him, it backed away and left. Remembering that it was hurt, Hiccup went after it, it was wary of him, but after a few visits he gained its trust.
He watched the dragon and learned everything about it. No one had ever seen a Night Fury, let alone spend time with it. He was the first to know about its kind and he wrote everything down. He learned it could retract its teeth, since it spent the majority of its time with them hidden, he named him Toothless. After a while he thought it was safe to say that they were friends.
Deciding to put his skills to good use, he invented a flap for the dragon’s broken tail, that way it could fly…
…Now in the air he checked to see if the new tail worked. It had taken a week for Toothless to finally let Hiccup ride him. Both scared and excited, he wanted to make the most of the opportunity. He and Toothless were best friends now, spending everyday together and bonding.
He relaxed and looked ahead, the sun was setting and as they passed clouds, Hiccup smiled at the amazing view. He patted Toothless on the side and was about to change gears for the tail with his foot when the tether holding him onboard snapped.
Just as quickly, he found himself falling. Looking up he could see Toothless rushing towards him, he reached a hand up towards him. Suddenly he felt as if the air beneath him were pushing him up instead of pulling him down to crash. Then he was being held in familiar claws and being flown down to safety…
…What happened wasn’t normal, Hiccup thought as he strained his eyes looking through piles of books by candlelight. It was late and he was studying his family history. He had to know what had happened that afternoon, and maybe one of the books he grabbed knew. It was almost morning and he was about to give up when he read something interesting.
Appearently, his ancestors used to have what they called “Ancient Fire” that they had within. They would use it to fight against dragons and it was the driving force of the Vikings, it was a gift that helped them perform all sorts of wonders. The main one was being able to use fire, hence the name, against the dragons. They fought fire with fire. The Fire was said to have dwindled along the bloodlines and was now almost gone.
Hiccup looked up confused, they used magic?
Got a bit random today and created 3 OC characters, thinking about making a fanfiction with them and 3 cute celebrity boys hahaDon’t forget to read my fanfiction in progress!!!
White, no grey, maybe it was both. Rapunzel wondered which it was as her eyes roamed through the color of his hair. The boy in front of her had just told her that he had woken up from being inside a lake. He had told her everything he could remember. He had told her that he was her friend Jack; she wanted to hear everything he had to say, hoping it could prove if it was really him.
Everything he told her was something she had heard before, from Jack. He said that he couldn’t remember if he had a family or why he was in the lake in the first place. Rapunzel shrugged, Jack had never told her about his family, as far as she knew, she thought he lived on his own in the village. When he tried to remember, he would double over in pain.
Rapunzel helped him before he hit the floor, she sat him down and lowered herself next to him. Taking his staff from him she took his hand that was now cold to the touch, she believed him. Why wouldn’t she? She remembered telling Jack about the magical floating lights that she loved to see, how he told her what they really were and how he promised to take her to see them one day. Then how she told him about her hair, and how he accepted her.
After the unbelievable things she had confessed to Jack over the years, she believed him now. It was her turn to hear him out and be there for him. She held his hand in both of hers and looked up at his new blue eyes.
“It’s ok, you don’t have to remember right now. Stay here in the tower and we can figure it out together.”
He looked at her confused, he knew how crazy her mother was, how could he possibly even think about staying there? At the first sight of him, mother Gothel would kill her for breaking her most important rule, keeping away from the outside world and anything from it.
“No Punz, your mom…”
“Won’t know you’re here, we can hide you,” she interrupted.
He smiled; knowing she believed in him brought the first shred of happiness in his new life. She smiled up at him and then blushed, getting up and looking away from him instantly. They found a way to hide him in a small room in the step of the tower; mother Gothel never used the lower entrance anymore, preferring to use Rapunzel’s hair. She wouldn’t ever go down there and he wouldn’t ever be found.
Jack sat around as Rapunzel walked around the tower, finding blankets and cloth. She was determined to make him new clothes, since the ones he had on were torn up. She worked and Jack found himself exploring his new abilities. Pointing at the air, a snowflake appeared, he blew it in her direction.
It floated quietly and landed softly against her cheek, she looked up from her work at him.
“Guess we’re both magic now..”
My favorite pairing of all time! Jack Frost and Rapunzel, Jackunzel! (Taken with GifBoom)
I just love them so much! 😫
So I went ahead and thought, what would the four look like if they were teens outside of their movies? And then I drew this, and I actually like it.
Hope you guys like it too.
